I was first introduced to yoga while serving as a US Marine, seeking alternative fitness practices for injury recovery. It wasn’t until leaving active duty in 2013, and moving to southern Maryland, that yoga became more than just an alternative fitness and recovery option. After graduating from the Nosara Yoga Institute - Evolve Yoga & Wellness 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training class, my drive to better personal health and wellness grew into a consistent meditation practice, a better work-life balance and a need to share this discovery of wellness with others.
My follow on education and training in health and wellness coaching, using essential oils and supplements, became the next step in the whole life concept of health. The introduction to Young Living Essential Oils could not have come at a better time, as it took my personal practice and coaching to a new level.
Additional training in Baptiste Power Yoga and Warriors at Ease ®, was the next step in my journey to sharing the vast benefits that yoga can bring to military service members outside of just fitness and injury prevention.
The sum of these programs bring specializations that appeal to athletes, military members and varying levels of students that are searching for physical strength and power, as well as adaptive practices for all needs, meditation and trauma sensitivity.
You can find me virtually as well as at Evolve Yoga and Wellness located in California MD!
New York born, Bolivian at heart; I lived most of my life in a little known landlocked country in South America, known as Bolivia. Spanish and English speaker, I was raised under old traditions, customs and beliefs of God and country. My childhood upbringing included rice, potatoes and bread (I know!), the Andes mountains (22,838 ft above sea level), Lake Titicaca and the famous Salar de Uyuni (largest Salt Flats in the world), among many other natural wonders of the world.
Living abroad allowed me to appreciate the simpler things in life that we, as Americans, take for granted. Healthy living was a priority in our home that was set by my grandmother’s homemade Bolivian cooking and my Irish-American father's Irish stews.
In 2007 I moved back to the US seeking my calling, after having studied law in Bolivia and getting a job with the Department of Homeland Security. It wasn’t until experiencing a back injury, which lead to countless visits to doctors, physical therapists and pain management that I made the decision to seek alternatives to traditional medicine. I was not finding the relief that I was seeking until, out of the blue, I was introduced to a more holistic approach to living...and the rest is history.
Through a balanced holistic approach to my health and healing, my passion is ignited!
Now as a Reiki Master teacher, Reflexologist, Intuitive and Crystal Practitioner I have awakened my desire to teach and empower others through the use of alternative methods, by giving them the ability to harness the tools found within themselves.
